Rockstar Games has shared its plans to make the Red Dead Online beta public in two days, November 30. Early access has already begun for those with special editions of the game.
Meanwhile, those with standard editions of the game can only wait till November 30 to play the beta. The beta is going to be available on PS4 and Xbox One. Since there is no PC version, for the time being, you need to buy a copy on PS4 and Xbox One to play the beta.
Rockstar Games is looking to deliver a stable experience across the board. The company wrote in a blog post that the developers are working day and night to make sure they release a complete Red Dead Online. The developers will continue to work weeks and months to fix every bug reported by the community.
Rockstar strongly recommends players to provide feedback after playing Red Dead Redemption Online.
Players are complying with Rockstar’s request for feedback and one of the most interesting things to come out of it is cross-platform play discussion.
Fans of Red Dead Online are demanding crossplay between Xbox One and PS4. Grand Theft Auto Online never had crossplay even though fans requested this feature for a long time. You weren’t able to play its vast variety of missions with your friends on other platforms.
Sadly, same is the case with Red Dead Online as there is no crossplay for now. However, according to Rockstar Games, they are committed to providing features and improvements based on player feedback so it would be surprising to see Rockstar add cross platforms play to Red Dead Online.
Crossplay is a highly demanded feature these days and most online multiplayer games have it. Fortnite, Rocket League, Street Fighter V, Minecraft, and others support cross-platform play.
GTA Online could have used crossplay to its advantage but it didn’t. Red Dead Online crossplay is a different story since many big publishers and developers now support this feature.
It wouldn’t be surprising to see Rockstar Games add a cross-platform play on PS4 and Xbox One in the future. There are rumors of a PC version so we may see the cross-platform release alongside the PC version.
