Darksiders 3 Crashes, Low FPS And Fixes
Darksiders 3 is the latest entry in the franchise. Fans of the franchise have waited years for the game to arrive and finally its here. However, Darksiders 3 PC is facing errors and issues like the crash on startup, low FPS, blurriness, and more.
The following are the Darksiders 3 crashes and other errors along with their possible fixes and workarounds so that you can enjoy the game without any problem.
Disable Motion Blur
Darksiders 3 comes with a motion blur feature but that’s not something everyone likes. There’s no option in the game to let you turn it off so you can try out some other ways to do it.
You can do it by turning off AA. You have to find .ini text file from the folder where your game is stored. It’s most probably going to be inside.(program86x/steam/steamapps/common/Drarksiders3). The .ini will be inside the game folder with DarkSiders3.exe inside or with your game data or save data inside.
Once there, you should be looking at DS3.ini or darksideres3.ini file names. Open any if you find and scroll down until you see the graphics related part of this ini file and look for its header. There you will have to make changes as below.
and change it to:
Now save the changes to turn off the motion blur. Do note that this is usually the way to turn off motion blur from games so it’s a not guaranteed fix but worth a try.
If that still doesn’t work try going to AppData\Local\Darksiders3\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\Scalability.ini and add the variable as below.
Incredibly Blurry View Error Fix
This is totally random and it’s going to be fixed in upcoming updates. But for now, all you have to do is restart Darksiders 3 until you see everything clear once again. It seems to be an error in the game which doesn’t allow the full game settings to fully kick in.
Like many PC games, DH riders 3 is facing Crashes and crash on startup. Here are a few things that you can do to fix Darksiders 3 Crashes.
Make sure you are not using any third-party monitoring software like MSI Afterburner, as they can cause the game to crash. Also, make sure your GPU isn’t overclocked and if it is then try ringing is back to its stock clock speeds.
Another reason for the crash on startup could the anti-virus software or Windows Defender. Either disable the anti-virus or make an exception for the game’s exe file in the anti-virus.
Also, try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable. Just reinstall the following.
Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable (x64)
Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Redistributable (x64)
Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable (x64)
Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable (x64)
These should resolve Darksiders 3 crashes and crash on startup issues for you.
Black Screen Fix
Black Screen is a common issue in PC games and Darksiders 3 is no exception to it. Here are a couple of things that you can do.
If you getting a black screen with sound, then start the game and press “ALT + Enter” and the game will go into Windowed mode.
Now, go to video settings and change the game’s resolution to your monitor’s native resolution and you will be able to play the game in fullscreen mode.
If this hasn’t worked for you, then open My Computer or This PC and paste the following in Quick Access.
The window that will open will have GameUserSettings.ini. Open this file in notepad as you are going to make a little bit of a change. In the file look for the following options.
If your resolution is 1920 x 1080 and then set “ResolutionSizeX” to 1920 and “ResolutionSizeY” to 1080, save it and start the game. Now start the game and the issue should be resolved. You can also try a lower resolution, like 1280 x 720, to see if that works.
Another reason for the black screen could be the outdated GPU driver. Make sure you are using the latest drivers as they bring game-specific optimizations.
Game Not Launching Fix
If you are getting an error while launching the game or when there’s no response when clicking on the Darksiders 3 launch icon. To fix no response issue, you need to make sure that “DATA EXECUTION PREVENTION” is set to default on your PC.
Go to the advanced system settings from your control panel. Find windows properties and select settings under the Performance tab.
In the performance tab, select Data Execution Prevention and turn it on for essential Windows programs & services, then save and apply to make changes.
Game Starting On the Wrong Monitor, Dual Monitor Fix
Players are reporting that when they play the game on their dual monitor setup, the game displays on the wrong monitor, which is the second monitor.
While there are problems with the game but this probably isn’t the game’s fault. The fix for this is quite simple. When you are about to start the game, press “Win + P” and disable the monitor that you don’t want to use. Start Darksiders 3 and it will display on your primary display.
Low FPS, Stuttering Fix
Like many PC games, Darksiders 3 PC is facing stuttering and FPS drops. Here are a few things that can help you get rid of the stuttering and boost FPS.
First, make sure you are using the latest GPU drivers as they bring game-specific optimizations. Second, make sure there is no background process running that is using too much of your CPU, GPU, and HDD.
If you own at least GTX 10 series GPU and a high-end CPU, there is one thing that might give you an FPS boost. Open Nvidia Control Panel and select “Manage 3D Settings” and then click on “Program Settings”.
From the drop-down list, select Darksiders 3. Once selected, go through the options and you look for Vertical Sync, Power Management Mode, and Texture Filtering.
Set the Vertical Sync to “Fast” and Texture Filtering to “High Performance”. As for Power Management Mode, I would recommend to set it to “Adaptive”.
These are the most common errors in the game for now along with fixes. We will update you with more error and their fixes once we find out so stay tuned.
