We are closer to the release date of PlayStation Classic and Sony has now confirmed that many video games on the system are of PAL format. Yes, most of the PlayStation Classic titles will use the PAL format and others will be NTSC.
There are going to be a total of 9 PAL format video games among the total of 20 PlayStation Classic launch titles. Now is this a big deal? In the past games used to be region based and were specially made for them. Now what’s worth noticing is that the PAL versions used to run at 50 Hz frame rates instead of 60 Hz on NTSC.
PAL versions of these games also used to have some strange sound and music issues. Now seeing this same happen to the games on PlayStation Classic was not expected.
This is going to be a problem, especially in fighting games. Tekken 3 is one of them and lower frame rates can make it unplayable. Now you’ll have to think once again if you want to purchase PlayStation Classic or not. Many have now changed their decision because they still remember how bad the PAL format titles can be.
Below we will be mentioning PlayStation Classic launch titles along with PAL or NTSC versions.
