Gunfire Games has apparently goofed up with the Darksiders 3 1.02 patch. The patch was intended to fix a number of problems but has instead caused even more, including hitching, crashing, graphical issues, and more. However, Gunfire Games has taken to Twitter to reassure fans that the patch will be fixed before tomorrow.
The Darksiders 3 1.02 patch was originally intended to fix problems like color fixes, stuttering and dropped frames, fixes for crashing and freezing, UI changes, and more. However, apparently the patch has instead created new graphical issues, a bad obstacle to run into when the game releases tomorrow.
Darksiders 3 is the long-awaited third entry in the series that was originally developed by Vigil Entertainment, but which was put on a several year hiatus after the studio’s publisher, THQ, went down. THQ Nordic, the company’s replacement, has since gotten the Darksiders license back, and alongside other games is giving Darksiders another shot.
Darksiders 3 tells the story of the third Horseman of the Apocalypse, Fury, who is being sent to an Earth devastated by Armageddon to hunt down seven demons that have escaped into the chaos. This story, apparently, runs either concurrently or just before the chronological “start” of the series, before War was sent to Earth to atone for supposedly starting Armageddon and Death went on his quest to absolve War.
While we’ve seen a good bit of gameplay footage, we still don’t know quite what the entire game will have, especially considering that each Darksiders game so far has had quite a few twists in its plot that we’re not shown in trailers, so who knows what it will involve.
Hopefully the fix to the Darksiders 3 1.02 patch will end up fixing all of the problems that the patch itself originally caused, and Darksiders 3 will be able to get a similar reception to the other two games. Darksiders 3 will be coming out tomorrow, November 27, for the Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC.
