There has been some concern regarding the development of Final Fantasy VII Remake but it seems that the game is on track. Development on the game is still in the initial phase but the devs would have us believe that there is nothing to worry about.
Tetsuya Nomura talked about the upcoming game in a recent interview and he mentioned that he wanted to clarify what was being talked about on the internet regarding Final Fantasy VII Remake. He was asked about the development of Final Fantasy VII Remake and the following is what he had to say in this regard:
Yes. That is not official. As I said during E3, development is going favorably. I just wanted to say that the current PR priority is Kingdom Hearts III, as it was during the ARTNIA event the other day, but after that it’ll be Final Fantasy VII Remake, so please don’t worry. It has nothing to do with Dissidia Final Fantasy,
While we are on the topic of Final Fantasy VII Remake, it is possible that Final Fantasy VII spinoffs will also be part of the upcoming remake. Game director Tetsuya Nomura touched on the matter and the following is what he had to say about the matter:
I’m thinking about ideas regarding the remake’s release—I even spoke to producer Kitase about it today. All of us old-timers are considering various developments in regards to what accompanies the remake. Like if we can manage to do something about the Compilation [of Final Fantasy VII] titles too. But for the time being, please wait for VII‘s turn to come.
We keep hearing new stuff about Final Fantasy VII Remake and that is great but I think that at this point the fans need a proper update regarding the game. It will be interesting to see what the devs will do in order to give the fans what they want.
