Fallout 76 Day One Patch Is The Entire Game As The Retail Disc Is Useless

Just a day remains before we get to play Fallout 76. However, Fallout 76 day one patch is over 50 GB but turns out, that 50 Gb is the entire game as the retail disc only contains 200 MB of data.

What this basically means is that purchasing the physical disc is useless. Purchasing the physical disc or buying Fallout 76 digitally results in you downloading over 50 GB of Day one patch that is the entire game.

As for the proof, check out the images below that, courtesy of Reddit and Twitter users, both Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions face the same problem. The disc contains only 200 MB of data and you will download the rest of Fallout 76 as part of the day one patch.

Now the question arises, what is the point of the offering the game on retail disc if you aren’t going to provide the full game on it.

One possibility is that Bethesda was behind schedule to get the physical discs ready. Hence the studio might have thought of providing the game as a digital download to release it on time.

This is not the first time a developer or publisher has done that. The same happened with Spyro Reignited Trilogy. The disc for the game was useless and required a 42 GB mandatory download.

Also, this is not the only blunder Bethesda has caused. First, there was a bug that deleted the Fallout 76 PC beta automatically.

Now that the beta has ended, you can’t uninstall the beta files. The reason behind it is also ridiculous one as you need to buy the game to delete the Fallout 76 beta files.

Speaking of making things worse, Fallout 76 on PC is open to hacks and the credit goes to Bethesda’s lack of experience. According to the report, Fallout 76 doesn’t have file validation and the network traffic is unencrypted.

Meaning, the server won’t check if the game files are tempered for hacking and will let it pass. Furthermore, you walk through walls and the server won’t stop you or flag you. Just open the .esm file, edit it and walk through walls.

Another reason for the game being open to hacks is its game engine. Fallout 76 game engine is the same as Fallout 4’s only a bit updated. Modders have the official tool to create mods for Fallout 4 which can potentially be used to tamper with Fallout 76.

Not only that, unlocked FPS is a built-in hack for Fallout 76. If you unlock the FPS in the game, the higher the FPS the higher your moving speed will be.

This can be used by players to move quickly through the game world and also provides them with an advantage over other players.

The cause of this increased speed is the fact that the game’s physics is tied to the FPS. This is a persistent bug from previous Fallout titles. It is acceptable for single-player games but, Fallout 76 is a multiplayer one.

Fallout 76 is an open-world multiplayer game developed by Bethesda. The game rolls out on November 14, 2018, for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
