It’s almost been a year since Star Wars Battlefront 2 released. The game saw a severe backlash following its launch but, the developers are still supporting the game. Now, reportedly DICE is about to include Ahsoka Tano and Padme Amidala to Star Wars Battlefront 2.
General Grievous has been added to Star Wars Battlefront 2. Some enthusiasts could not resist and started digging through his code. This digging paid off as it confirmed that Ahsoka Tano and Padme Amidala are coming to Star Wars Battlefront 2.
Data miners found that General Grievous has dialogue related to Ahsoka Tano and Padme Amidala. To be exact, the character has 44 lines of dialogue for Ahsoka and 42 lines of dialogue for Padme.
Not only that, he even says their names in some of the dialogues. This pretty much confirms that Star Wars Battlefront will soon add Ahsoka and Amidala to its roster.
Fans of the Star Wars will remember Padme as the wife of Anakin Skywalker and mother to Luke and Leia. Ahsoka Tano is a popular character from Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series.
EA has the license to Star Wars video games and it is not wasting it. Aside from Battlefront 2, there are two other Star Wars games in development.
Respawn Entertainment is developing the Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order. Reportedly, both Jedi Fallen Order and Titanfall 3 are coming in 2019. During the recent earnings call, EA revealed that Respawn is working on a number of titles that will drop in 2019.
The other Star Wars title is development at EA Motive. Originally, Visceral Games was developing it with Uncharted’s Amy Hennig acting as the game director.
According to EA, Visceral was developing the game as a linear game with a strict focus on single-player elements. However, EA Motive’s Star Wars will keep the single-player intact. But, multiplayer and live services remain the focus for the upcoming Star Wars title.
Anthem is another upcoming EA title in development at Bioware. Interestingly, EA has raised its sales expectation for Anthem citing the early forecast too low. EA also expects a 20% to 25% increase in digital sales for the game.
Star Wars Battlefront 2 is a first-person action shooter developed by EA DICE. The game is available for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
