Red Dead Redemption 2 Brings $725 Million In Just 3 Days

There was quite a hype behind the newly released Red Dead Redemption 2. So, it comes as no surprise that Red Dead Redemption 2 launch week sales are the biggest than any other entertainment product.

The news comes from Rockstar Games itself. The studio confirmed that Red Dead Redemption 2 achieved the biggest launch week sales than any other entertainment property.

In Just three days, the game has brought in $725 million at worldwide retail. This figure is for the physical copies of the game that were sold not shipped.

As for the digital Red Dead Redemption 2 sales, Rockstar Games didn’t reveal any specific number. However, the studio did note that the game “set new records” for its digital sales.

Red Dead Redemption 2 managed the highest pre-orders on PlayStation network. However, the studio refrained itself from revealing the number of copies sold.

Speaking of the game, the HDR in RDR2 doesn’t work properly. Turns out, the HDR implementation of Red Dead Redemption 2 is fake. According to tests, the game upscales the SDR to HDR to create an illusion of HDR.

Also, while it hasn’t been a week since the release of the game but, we are already receiving reports that RDR2 will be remastered for PS5.

The game has launched for PS4 and Xbox One and PC gamers are wondering if the game would ever come to PC. Recently, hints about Red Dead Redemption 2 PC emerged from the game’s companions app.

That’s not all, the app also hints at the VR support for Red Dead Redemption 2 PC. The app specifically mentions Oculus Rift indicating that Rockstar will not only bring the game to PC but also to VR headsets.

Given that Red Dead Redemption 2 can be played in first-person, it makes sense for the studio to introduce VR support to it. Furthermore, it is possible that RDR2 might come to PSVR too.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is a third-person action game developed by Rockstar Games. The game is available for PS4 and Xbox One.
