FIFA 19 Digital Launch Sales Broke Records

SuperData has revealed that FIFA 19 digital sales broke records. It's now the best selling digital game in the series leaving behind FIFA 18.

Another year, another FIFA game with another record. FIFA 19 had the best digital launch in the series ever last month in September. FIFA 19 digital sales increased by 18% as compared to the previous FIFA 18.

SuperData revealed that FIFA 19 broke launch records this year but it still struggles to overcome AAA titles like Spiderman when it comes to digital downloads. This years’ FIFA came third in SuperData’s top 10 console games chart for September.

Destiny 2 took the first place which is because of the latest Forsaken Expansion and an increase in sales of the deluxe edition. According to the data, 60% of the active users bought this new expansion in Destiny 2 which is a big achievement for a game that old.

Third place was taken by Sony’s biggest first-party title which is none other than Spiderman. Spiderman managed to sell 3.3 Million copies in just three days after its release on September 7.

According to Superdata firm:

Consumers spent $1.24 billion on digital console games in September, up from $912 million in the same month last year, continuing a string of high-growth months going into the holiday season.

Bungie is doing great to revive Destiny 2. Though it’s surprising to see that the game didn’t make it to the top 10 on PC platform. It also noteworthy that the global phenomenon known as Fortnite is not in the top 5 on PC and doesn’t even appear in top ten mobile games.

2018 was a year of Sony as they released hit after hit likes Spiderman, God Of War and Detroit: Become Human on PS4. It’s also the reason that Sony’s profits of the games have increased by 65%.
