Gwent: The Witcher Card Game exists beta and a brand new update is now live on PC.
Gwent is a card game from The Witcher 3, which is an action open-world RPG developed by CD Projekt Red. Within the game’s epic quest to save the protagonist’s adoptive daughter, Gwent serves as a mini-game the player may dedicate themselves to. Being a collectible card game, Gwent takes players across the map, battling other deck wielders to win money and special cards to upgrade their deck with. Recently, however, Gwent was separated and developed into its very own multiplayer title, which until now was in its beta stages.
The game director for Gwent, Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz (phew) relayed his thoughts on the Gwent game recently:
Over these last months, the team went above and beyond to deliver a game that players can fall in love with, both for the first time and all over again. But that’s not the end of the road for us. Homecoming was made possible because of your feedback and we’re making Gwent for you, so never forget you can reach out and let us know what you think.
He also pointed players towards a dedicated website to explain in more detail how Gwent will work as its own title. The live update for the game dubbed the “Homecoming update” brings additional cards, customization, and heavy amounts of personalization to players for both their profiles and their decks.
Definitely an exciting time for those wanting to finally prove to their fellow Witcher friends that you indeed are the superior strategist. And Geralt needed your help winning special cards much more than whatever aid your inferior Gwent player of a friend could’ve offered.
So who’s in the mood for a round of Gwent?
