Fortnite Save The World Won’t Be Available for Free This Year

Epic Games has now confirmed that Fortnite Save The World will not be getting a free version in 2018. They want to work on it more before making it free.

Epic Games has now confirmed that Fortnite Save The World is not coming in 2018. This has been done to smoothly implement new features and “backend system scaling” in the game before it goes free for a wider audience.

As we all know, Fortnite is hugely popular because of its Battle Royale mode. But that’s not all, the game was originally launched with a mode to offer co-op experience. It’s still available but you will have to purchase it. Epic stated previously that they will be making it free to play in 2018 but it’s not the case anymore.

Epic released a statement to announce this change.

We decided to move the free-to-play launch of Save the World out of this year. We’re working on a broad set of features, reworks, and backend system scaling we believe are needed to go free-to-play. Save the World has grown consistently since our launch in July 2017 and Fortnite overall has experienced unprecedented growth. Scaling up for the legions of player heroes who will be joining the fight is key to providing an excellent experience. This applies to all of our players, old and new, so we’re taking the time to get this right.

Well if you can’t wait for Fortnite Save The World to go free then you can purchase it today as Epic Games is having a big sale. 50% off is now available on Standard, Deluxe, Standard Deluxe, and Limited Founder’s Packs this week.

The cheapest version of the mode is going to cost you 20$ and it’s pretty fun to play with friends.

Epic Games is also giving away some free gifts as a way to say sorry. Everyone who’s an old or new player of the game should log in during the Fortnitemares Event to receive Brainiac Jonesy and Skull Ranger Ramirez absolutely free.

You can also earn V-bucks through the Save The World mode and then use it aftward in the free battle royale mode.

Fortnite crossplay is now also available on PS4 starting with a beta. You can now play with your friends over Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
