Following the closure of Telltale Games, Skybound Games will be completing the game. However, there is still no news on when The Walking Dead: The Final Season Episode 3 will drop.
Following the closure of Telltale Games, Skybound took it upon itself to complete the final season. With the change in the studio, the release date for the upcoming episodes has changed.
Skybound CEO Ian Howe has noted that the development is at a standstill for The Walking Dead: The Final Season Episode 3 and 4. However, he did confirm that Episode 3 will drop before the end of 2018.
OK, given that you guys have been so supportive and patient, I’m going out on a limb and will say yes, I fully expect Episode 3 to be this year and I’ll be very disappointed if we can’t make that happen.
Skybound Games will not only complete the Final Season but, will also be working with the original Telltale team. This came following Telltale letting go over 200 employees. According to Telltale, financial problems were the reason for the closure.
Aside from letting go its employees, Telltale didn’t even pay severance to its employees. In the aftermath, One of the employees filed a lawsuit against the company for sudden closure and lack of severance pay.
TellTale Games was also working on Stranger Things game among other titles. However, Stranger Things gameplay leaked online following the closure.
Despite the closure of the Telltale Games, Netflix is determined for a Stanger Things video game. However, Netflix hasn’t announced a new partner to develop the game.
Speaking of the Walking Dead, the ending of the first season was heartbreaking. However, there is an alternate ending to the first season and it’s ridiculously fun.
A former designer, writer, and director at Telltale Games revealed the alternate ending. But, Telltale Games never officially considered this alternate ending for season 1.
The Walking Dead: The Final Season is a narrative-driven episodic game for PC, Xbox One and PS4. No release date announced for the rest of the episodes.
