Ubisoft had planned to launch the first Elite Mercenary event this week. But as it turns out the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey players are not going to have a go at it after all. Unnamed issues didn’t let it be the first of limited Assassin’s Creed Odyssey live events.
The unnamed cause behind it was most likely due to server issues. But the developers decided to declare the cancellation on a lighter note without revealing anything.
Still, it doesn’t make the lack of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey live events any less of a letdown.
The decision to dramatize the whole situation tries to cut expected backlash. But one can only wonder if the Tweet is laughable at Damais or Ubisoft’s own failure of having a safe event launch. Still, I hope the developers have prepared for a backlash because the joke is on them.
Moreover, it is easy to place the blame on a character when you are clueless about what got you in the first place. It seems Ubisoft didn’t even know what they had to fix to make things right. So, one of their Assassin’s Creed Odyssey characters had to take one for them.
Damais was going to make his first appearance on to the game with Elite Mercenary. But instead, the poor fellow had to be the baitfish for a fault he didn’t commit.
Nonetheless, Ubisoft looks to move on from this sunken ship and plan for the upcoming journey. The fans have got the notification to wait it out till new Assassin’s Creed Odyssey DLC comes out.
Let’s hope the upcoming run of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey live events become a perpetual hit. Meanwhile, Ubisoft also needs to take care of the poor optimization of the game leading to high CPU usage.
The Assassin’s Creed Odyssey gameplay makes sure the users enjoy having the time of their lives. But Ubisoft must ensure that goes uninterrupted as well.
