Nvidia RTX 2070 Ti was spotted in recent marketing material from Gigabyte and fans were all over the post, talking about how it did not make sense. It is worth mentioning that the performance delta between the GTX 1070 and 1080 was not all that significant either but we still got the 1070 Ti. So anything could be possible.
The image was posted on Reddit and the Nvidia RTX 2070 Ti seemed like a typo. People did, however, take it very seriously and how can you blame then? Luckily, a Gigabyte representative made it very clear that this is indeed a type and nothing more. He went into further detail and mentioned the following:
AORUS cards usually come 1-2 weeks after the launch of the GIGABYTE cards (IE Gaming OC, Windforce.) This promotion ends Nov 15th. That means in less than a month you would see a new card, never before even rumored, then the high end variant, all in the next 30 days. Not to mention that 30 days includes skuing up and selling in what appears to be Singapore, a market that again usually lags behind in on the shelf availability.
The mention of the Nvidia RTX 2070 Ti, so early seemed too fishy to be true and it is great that the Gigabyte representative stepped in before things got out of hand. You can check out the marketing material with the type below:
The RTX 2070 was just released and the performance of the graphics card is a bit higher than the GTX 1080 but the price is a lot more. Keeping that in mind one would wonder whether it is even worth it. Unless we get games that support Nvidia RTX features, we can’t come to a verdict on that.
Let us know what you think about this Nvidia RTX 2070 Ti typo that Gigabyte made in the marketing material and whether or not you think there could be a Nvidia RTX 2070 Ti further down the line.
