The first of seven monthly Shadow of the Tomb Raider DLC packs has been announced by Ubisoft, called “The Forge”. The Forge will be fitting in with the Mayan setting of the main game, taking Lara to a fiery tomb of fallen gods to find out about a friend’s ancient legacy.
The Forge will be adding in a new challenge tomb that you can play either by yourself or with a friend, and completing it gets you a number of weapons, tools, and a new outfit in reward. New game modes and side missions will also be available.
Each Tomb Raider game has had a number of different DLC story packs available, but the new Shadow of the Tomb Raider DLC packs is going to be the most out of all of them, as the original game only had one story pack, while Rise of the Tomb Raider had four separate ones, including Lara’s Nightmare, which took Lara throughout the Croft manor as she fought hordes of zombies.
There’s no telling if all of these different Shadow of the Tomb Raider DLC packs are going to be story packs or if they’re going to be partly story packs and partly added content like weapons and outfits, but we’ll just have to wait and see which DLC packs end up being what. With six different DLC packs coming in addition to The Forge, we’ll at least have a ton of new content to play through.
Considering how many different opportunities Shadow of the Tomb Raider might have to go through Mayan mythology with its plot and setting, we’ll hopefully be able to see a lot of different stuff that allows it to fill the other DLC packs with more content.
The Shadow of the Tomb Raider DLC “The Forge” will become available on November 13 for the Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC, for $4.99, so if you’re playing Shadow of the Tomb Raider and want to play more of it, you won’t have very long to wait.
In the meantime you can play the base game on Xbox One, PC, and Playstation 4, as said above.
