We have seen the concerning report that details allegations against Cristiano Ronaldo. We are closely monitoring the situation, as we expect to cover athletes and ambassadors to conduct themselves in a manner that is consistent with EA’s values.
Last week Ronaldo threated to sue German newsmagazine Der Spiegel for its “blatantly illegal” publishing of Mayorga’s claims. Ronaldo responded to the allegation on his social media, calling it “Fake News.”
EA isn’t the only one keeping an eye on the situation. Nike, the company with a long-standing partnership, is also monitoring the situation. The allegations are yet to be proved in a court of law and so far not a shred of evidence is shared by the accusing party.
On the bright side, both companies are keeping a calm head at least unlike others who cut ties with stars right away. Until the allegations are proven, FIFA creators, as well as Nike, should remain unbiased.
