According to Bethesda Softworks, new Fallout 76 content will drop every week and month. The developer confirmed how the game’s post-release update plans are designed to roll out content on a week-to-week and month-to-month basis.
Bethesda previously stated that they would like to support Fallout 76 “forever.” It seems the studio plans to stay true to its word. Speaking in a recent interview, Bethesda boss Todd Howard discussed how they plan to support this game with post-release content. In doing so, Howard also stated that people will play this game for years to come.
One of the things that we really like about Fallout 76 is that we’ve built it so that we can support it on a month-to-month and week-to-week basis. So our plan is, this is the game, and we know based on our previous games that people are gonna play literally for years. So it’s something we’re gonna keep updating.
And the way the whole system is built, connected, we can add things the players like more of, change parts of the game. And that part is really, really exciting for us: that we have the game that we’re launching, but then we also have the game that it’s gonna be a year from now and two years from now. And we’re gonna do that with the community, so that makes it extra great.
Fallout 76 is Bethesda’s very first multiplayer centric Fallout game. But Bethesda designed the game to make sure is welcoming to new and veteran players alike. According to the studio, Fallout 76 is only 20% different than Fallout 4. One notable change is the addition of a brand new currency for cosmetic items.
Bethesda is hosting a Fallout 76 beta later this month on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The full game rolls out in November.
