PUBG Back on Top of Steam With 800K Concurrent Players

PUBG has been struggling with maintaining is concurrent player count over the past few months. But the game saw a surge of players recently and at the time of this writing, we have 802,496 players in PUBG Steam.

While this is good news for PUBG, the number is still far from it’s over a million average player count. PUBG and Fortnite both are going to suffer a bit as they’re expected to lose players once Black Ops 4 rolls out.

Treyarch has introduced a Blackout mode in Black Ops 4 which will directly compete with PUBG and Fortnite. Fortnite will see lesser impact though as it is a free to play game as well as the biggest battle royale title right now.

PUBG, on the other hand, will suffer the most as some of the biggest streamers have quit playing. Dr. Disrepect actually slammed the game on stream and vowed to move to Blackout once the game rolls out. Shroud started playing Counter-Strike to avoid PUBG.

Black Ops 4 Blackout mode is rolling out alongside the game on October 12.
