Vivendi to Sell Ubisoft Shares by the End Of March, Win For Team Ubisoft

After many years of Vivendi threatening to takeover Ubisoft. Ubisoft has finally managed to come out as a victor as Vivendi has backed down from taking over. It is now going to sell its remaining shares.

Ubisoft has managed to defend itself from a major shareholder. This all started 3 years ago when Ubisoft shared that Vivendi was trying to take over.

Vivendi purchased many parts of Ubisoft to become a major shareholder of the company. To counter that, Ubisoft took help from several investors.

By 2016, Vivendi had over 20% of Ubisoft’s Stock and said that it’s delaying the takeover due to strategic reasons.

During that time, Vivendi also managed to takeover Gameloft who was going through alot. Most of Gameloft Studios were closed and in a big loss. Vivcendi took the opportunity of the situation and bought most of its stock.

But with Ubisoft, they luckily had a defense system and they didn’t face any decline in sales which is why Vivendi had a hard time.

Now, Vivendi has already started selling stocks and looks to sell the remaining by the March of 2019. It’s aproximated that the remaining Vivendi’s stock cost about more than $500 Million.
