Xbox 360 Emulator Xenia Improvements Allow Users To Play Halo 3 Without Visuals Glitches

Console emulators have a tough time running console exclusives on PCs and Xbox 360 emulator Xenia faced similar problems while playing Halo 3 on PC. However, the developers behind the emulator have made some progress that allows users to play Halo 3 on PC.

While Halo 3 is playable on PC with the help of Xbox 360 emulator Xenia but, it is far from perfect. The game boots up and is constantly below 20 FPS.

However, this is a huge improvement over the previous version of Xenia as previously the game was impossible to be played on the emulator due to extreme visual glitches.

On the other hand, Xbox 360 emulator Xenia is also able to play Halo 3: ODST, however, the game just boots up but the visuals glitches make it impossible for the game to be played. Check out Halo 3, and Halo 3: ODST running using the Xbox 360 emulator Xenia in the videos below.

Speaking of emulators, there is also a PlayStation 3 emulator in the market, RPCS3 Emulator, and it fares better compared to Xenia while playing console exclusive games on PC.

Like the Xbox 360 emulator Xenia, RPCS3 emulator is also a work in progress as it needs improvements to play these exclusives to render at, at least, 30 FPS.

The devs behind the emulator recently brought more improvements to the emulator to play games like The Last Of Us, Uncharted 3, Resistance and more. The improvements now allow players to play the Last of Us, Uncharted 3 without crashing during cutscenes among other fixes.

Previously the Resistance: Fall of Man was unplayable using the RPCS3 Emulator and after the improvements, the game is now playable.

Not only that, one creative user has even managed to run Ni No Kuni on PS4 using the RPCS3 Emulator.

The modder was running Linux on the PlayStation 4 which he used to run RPCS3 to run Ni No Kuni on the PlayStation 4. For those wondering why use an emulator on the console? The reason is that Ni No Kuni is a PlayStation 3 exclusive that never made it to the PS4.

The RPCS3 Emulator is also capable of running PS3 exclusives at 4K resolution. These PlayStation 3 exclusives include Armored Core V, Clash of the Titans and Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2.
