The Last of Us 2 Release Date Leaked But Unlikely for 2019, Here’s Why

According to PlayStation Music, The Last of Us 2 is release date is scedualed for 2019. However, it seems highly unlikely at this point.

The Last of Us 2 Part 2 release date is rumored to be scheduled for 2019 for a while now. But new evidence has further solidified your suspicions.

PlayStation Music posted a track from The Last of Us 2 on YouTube. With it, the channel listed it as a 2019 release in the video’s description.

This isn’t the first time Sony has slipped up as earlier this year Sony listed Ghost of Tsushima as a 2018 game. Well, as we now know Ghost of Tsushima isn’t coming out this year which means The Last of Us 2 may not release in 2019.

Known for taking its time with game development, Sony is unlikely to push The Last of Us 2 out before 2020. We heard the company considering Death Stranding fastest developed game in its history. And yet, we haven’t seen a release date or even a release window for Death Stranding.

The Last of Us 2 last appeared at E3 2018. We were hoping to see it again at PlayStation Experience this year. Unfortunately, Sony canceled PlayStation Experience which indicates it didn’t have much to show.

Sony’s big releases this year include God of War, Spiderman PS4, and a range of indie games. All praised for their narrative and gameplay designs.

2019 is expected to be the biggest year yet if Ghost of Tsushima, Death Stranding, Days Gone, and The Last of Us 2 all make it.

It is safe to say some of these games will not only release on current-gen consoles but next-gen as well. PS5 release date announcement is rumored for E3 2019. Most of these games are bound by the limitations of current-gen hardware so a cross-platform release won’t make much of a difference. The most we’ll see are higher resolution and frame rates.
