Days Gone Is More like 28 Days Later, Says Director

Days Gone game director has finally started to uncover more new details about the game. John Garvin recently talked about the upcoming titled and also spilled the beans on another zombie type called “freakers”.

Garvin talked about game style and compared it to other franchises like The Walking Dead and 28 Days Later. According to Garvin:

So we’re like 28 Days Later zombies, instead of Walking Dead zombies. And that’s, to my mind at least, that’s a huge difference. Because what that allowed us to do was to create an ecosystem; you’re in an open world, with a day/night cycle, and you’ve got creatures that need to eat, they need to sleep, they need to drink… all of that is built into the daily cycles of the horde.

Garvin then explained that the players will have to learn the habits of Freakers to counter them later.

You can find out where they feed, where they drink, and you can follow them and learn their habits, and that’s important, because later on there’s going to be missions where you have to take them out. And they’re just dangerous all the time. If you run into one while you’re on the highway trying to do something else, good things don’t come of that.

These in-depth details make the game different from any other zombie game. You’ll have to keep your eyes open for zombies and humans as-well throughout your journey.

Days Gone also became the most polished game at Tokyo Game Show 2018. Not only that, Days Gone has indeed exceeded expectations and the latest trailer of the game gave us chills. The trailer shows us the main character, Deacon St. John running away from an army of zombies.

Bend Studio’s Eric Jensen revealed that “Freakers” are a part of the eco-system and you’ll encounter them while traveling around the world.

You can take the risk to attack them or come back to deal with them later with all the needed supplies. That’s not all, NPC humans in the game are looking for you too. Some are bad enough to attack you in certain situations though some might help you.

Days Gone is looking different than any other game out there. Sony has already made a name for itself by bringing us Spiderman PS4 and Horizon Zero so we are expecting Days Gone to be another huge success for the company.
