Darksiders 3 Won’t Fully Utilize Xbox One X, Thanks To Base Xbox One

Xbox One X is significantly powerful compared to the base Xbox One, however, the base Xbox One is also the reason why so many games can’t utilize the full potential of Xbox One X. Such is the case with the upcoming Darksiders 3.

Speaking with Gamingbolt, THQ Nordic’s business & product development director Reinhard Pollice talked about the upcoming Darksiders 3.

When asked if the game will be utilizing the potential of Xbox One X, Pollice replied that Darksiders 3 will not be taking full advantage of the Xbox One X’s potential due to the fact that the game also has to launch for the base Xbox One.

Unfortunately you can’t really utilize that as you also have to be able to ship on the main Xbox One.

However, putting all the blame on the base Xbox One for developers not being able to fully utilize Xbox One X is a little unfair. According to the devs, Xbox One X’s CPU is a bottleneck and would like to see the CPU upgraded for the console.

According to Fazan Studios’ Constantine, the Xbox One X CPU being a “bottleneck” for modern games and the tech associated to games is no secret and would love to see the Xbox One X CPU upgraded to lift the bottleneck and realize the full potential of its hardware.

While the base Xbox One is partially the reason behind Xbox One X not being fully utilized but the CPU is another reason as the Xbox One X CPU saw marginal improvements as the base model features 1.75 GHz 8-core custom AMD CPU while the Xbox One X features 2.3 GHz 8-core custom AMD CPU.

Speaking of Darksiders 3, the game will also feature multiple endings depending on player choice. Reportedly, Fury, the game’s protagonist, will come across a few points where she will have to make decisions and these decisions will result in different endings.

However, it is unknown if the game’s endings will impact the overall story arc of the Darksiders or not but, it seems unlikely that it will happen.

Darksiders 3 is an action-adventure game in development at Gunfire Games and is scheduled to launch on November 27, 2018, for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
