Free Kicks used to be one of the easiest things in the game but that is not the case anymore. Our FIFA 19 Free Kicks Guide will ensure you have the maximum chances of success whenever you try your luck with the dead ball from outside the box.
Our Free Kicks Guide will give you tips and tricks on how to take the best Free Kicks in the game with the greatest chance of scoring a goal.
FIFA 19 Free Kicks
These few techniques will be critical to your success when taking Free Kicks. They can be used to thwart your opposition and score goals with a much higher rate than simply lining up your shot and kicking the ball.
The Standard Free Kick
Remember that you can do many things that will impact the way you take a basic Free Kick. You can use the right-stick to move the starting position of the player and have a better angle to the ball.
You can either dip the Free Kick (best for close ranges) or curve it (for longer ranges). Dipping can be done by holding the Left Stick up and having 1 to 2 bars of power. The Curve utilizes the same power but the Left Stick is in the direction of the curve.
Trivela Free Kicks
These Free Kicks are great for when you do not have the perfect player for taking the right shot. It could be that the player has been substituted off and the new player needs to make use of the other foot.
To perform the Trivela Free Kick, move your player to the opposite direction using the Right Stick and then have 1 to 2 bars of power to take the shot.
Power Free Kick
This Free Kick is great for long ranges. All you need to do is to hold the LS upwards and hold the LB or the L1 button before powering up the shot and releasing it.
Remember that you may need more than 1 or 2 bars of power when taking this Free Kick. You can also use this method at close ranges to send the ball rolling below the wall if they jump. In that case, use a maximum of 1 bar of power.
Knuckleball Free Kick
This Free Kick is similar to the Power Free Kick but you need to point the LS in the opposite direction to your player’s shooting foot so as to create the Knuckleball effect.
Remember that you can use the RS to line up your player and perform the Trivela Power Free Kick in a similar fashion.
Rabona Free Kick
To do a Rabona free-kick, you should have Cristiano Ronaldo take the kick. This free kick can be taken from inside the “D”. You have to ensure that you aim at the near post. The controls for this are to tap the square and hold the left stick to the right. Remember that you must have power between 1 and 1.5 bar
More is Better
You can call an extra 2nd or even a 3rd player using your LB/L1 and RB/R1 buttons.
These people can perform the fake shot using its standard controls or lay off the ball if you hold their respective button and press the pass button on top of it. This can be used to confuse your opponents.
