All the New FIFA 19 Features That You Need to Know About

FIFA 19 is almost here and it looks marvelous. To hype you up for the release, we have compiled all the new FIFA 19 Features that you should know about.

With FIFA 19 so close to release, we have compiled a list of new features in FIFA 19 that will catch your breath right away!

New FIFA 19 Features

With Ronaldo (FIFA’s favorite player) moving to Juventus, FIFA has been confused with whom to feature as a Cover Star for the new FIFA 19.

This is partly because Portuguese is heavily involved in the promotional content for the game. FIFA 19 will feature the Brazilian talisman Neymar alongside Ronaldo (and Neymar’s getting his own Special Skill too!)

This is a big thing for diehard fans of FIFA because a single player was preferred on the older FIFA 17 and FIFA 18. Having two players on the cover will change FIFA series in years to come.

UEFA Champions League

Guess what is coming to FIFA 19?! The UEFA Champions League! Finally! The only thing that PES had on top of FIFA (not that PES is bad, it is a great game) was the UEFA Champions League but now the tides have changed.

EA Sports has now secured the rights to this UEFA Champions League and this competition will be carefully integrated throughout FIFA 19.

The game is said to have been tailored to fit this new League right in and I think it is a very good step, making it worthy of being one of the new FIFA 19 Features.

“This has been one of the most requested features from our players for over a decade and for us the Champions League is so much more than a license.

We did not want to just bring in the license teams so you can play with them in the right context, we really wanted to go over and beyond and add Champions League elements to every place we could in FIFA 19.

It’s been a whole lot of work and it’s not just a coat of paint. It’s really integrating meaningful features around the Champions League. We moved a lot of dirt bringing it to life.”

New Match Types

New Match Types have also been added to the game, according to the official announcement.

Survival Mode
Each time a user scores a goal, a random player from the scoring club is removed (excluding the goalkeeper). It’s like a Battle Royale! (I mean, every game is doing Battle Royale-themed games this year) a fitting place in one of the new FIFA 19 Features.

No-Rules
Hit, swipe, break or even kill the other player, there are no offside calls, fouls or bookings in this Game Mode. It’s the Survival of the Fittest!

Long Range
Goals that you score from inside the box will count as a single goal, BUT goals scored from outside the box will count as two goals. Be sure to practice your aim!

First to ‘X’
Set your custom aim in this game mode, whether it is first to score a single goal or a hundred, it is totally up to you!

There will still be a time limit to the game, and the game will go through full time, as well as extra time and penalties, if you wish it to, of course.

Headers & Volleys
Only goals done with a header or a volley will count. Other penalties and free kicks are also allowed, of course, but a goal scored through any other means will not be allowed.

Best of
Play three or five-match series to determine a winner, just like a classic match series. (No extra rules.)

Home and Away
You will play one Home and one Away game in this game mode (Hence the name, duh). The winner is the team that has scored the most combined goals from those two matches.

If the teams are on equal standing after two matches, the team with the most away goals will be determined the winner. If the teams are still on equal standing, the match will go into over-time, and finally, move onto a Penalty Shootout.

Cup Finals
Play matches as one of the several real-life Cup Finals, including the Champions League Final, Europa League Final, FA Cup Final, and others.

Official kits, badges, match balls, and authentic broadcast overlays (for at least some of the few tournaments) will provide an authentic Cup Final experience.

Europa League
Combined with the UEFA league, the Europa League is also coming to FIFA 19. Europa League is like a smaller version of UEFA league but that does not necessarily mean it is worse.

The Europa League has featured some of the best teams in the world. This is probably the least-hyped feature in the new FIFA 19 Features list.

Revised Gameplay

EA Sports has hinted on a new gameplay for the game, where the game will feature an ‘active touch’ feature as well as a new ‘tactical system’ and 50/50 battles.

The game-changing animation system ‘Real Player Motion Technology’ will also return with increased coverage. This technology will make an animation for several skills way better than before.

As noted on our Skill Moves Guide, there are some new cool moves as well as the Flick System which has some really positive feedback from demo players.

The game is rumored to also introduce ‘Dynamic Weather’ making the game one of the first to do so – another is Forza Horizon 4 and that looks beautiful.

Moreover, the mini-map will change with one team having triangle icons and the other team to have circle icons, so no more of that one friend who says he got confused by the mini-map.

Timed Finishes

The game will also feature the new Timed Finishing mechanics. Request a shot and wait for your player to start the shooting animation. As soon as the player is about to make contact with the ball, press the shoot button.

If the timing is right, your shots will be more powerful and have less chance of missing. There will be a colored player indicator to feedback the Timed Finishing attempt.

If your timing is too early, your shot will have a high chance to miss and will be much less likely to hit the inside of the net. The player indicator will show you Red or Yellow color.

White indicates you were too late and Green indicates the shot was perfect. Good job! The skill of the gamer will greatly attribute to this mechanics but players also have a vital part to play here.

The higher the shooting attributes to a player, the better the chance will be to get a Timed Finish and score. The easier it will be for the gamer to shoot too.

This feature provides a very well done finisher touch (no pun intended) and will add a great experience for the game and the fans themselves.

Pitch Notes

I really, really think this is a periodical term for Patch Notes.

Pitch Notes is a new feature from the developers where the developers will attempt to give the players “information regarding FIFA and its various features” and to “address feedback when we’re making critical changes to the product” as to quote them.

Dynamic Tactics

Dynamic is a weird word, is not it? Moreover, what is with 2018 and dynamic things? Everything is supposed to be dynamic these days – Dynamic Weather, Dynamic Campaigns, and everything.

Anyways, Dynamic Tactics is supposed to give players a more control over their team and the way they play football. You will now be able to control your team play like the legendary Football Manager game.

This feature is supposed to be a great deal for some hard-core fans, and we are expecting a lot from this mechanic, even though it says ‘Dynamic’ up there.

Stat Tracking System

FIFA 19 will also feature a Stat Tracking System where gamers will be given an in-depth breakdown of how they played the game as well as providing tracked milestones for comparison as to how the game went when playing with a friend.

You will be able to synchronize these stats Online, for a more legitimate proof of your skills. Must make all those friends you know jelly, aye?

FIFA Ultimate Team Revamps

The Ultimate Team Mode in FIFA 19 will have some slight alterations and will include live content updates from the Champions League and Europa League.

EA Sports has also confirmed that it will let the gamers know what the odds of getting a player in a specific pack are, to make packs’ opening a better thing.

“For Ultimate Team, when you buy a pack you know what you are getting,” EA’s vice-president Daryl Holt explained to Eurogamer.

“You are getting a certain number of assets that are guaranteed – and we’re going to start to do pack odds disclosures that’ll show you the odds of what you might get.

That will be in our product year 19 titles. So, at least that aspect of understanding what the chances are of getting X, Y and Z card.”

New Icons

Icons was a feature originally introduced in FIFA 18 where gamers were able to play with some of the greatest football players in the history of Football.

One of the New FIFA 19 Features, namely Icons will feature the following players: but not limited to.

Roberto Baggio, Fabio Cannavaro, Raul, Rivaldo, Steven Gerrand, Eusebio, Frank Lampard, Claude Makelele, and Johan Cruyff.

Return of The Journey

The Journey will return for the third time in FIFA 19.

The Journey is a Single Player campaign introduced in FIFA 17 where players play as ‘Alex Hunter’ a new player whose aim is to make a mark in the Premier League Club.

In FIFA 18, Alex returned, and this time, aiming for the Major League Soccer.

In FIFA 19, Alex is expected to play a story called ‘The Journey: Champions’ which is just another take on the UEFA Champions League.

Your choices and efforts will define whether Alex becomes the winner of the Champions League or goes down with his team.

New Stadium

FIFA 19 will feature a new stadium for your favorite teams to pitch in. The brand-new stadium is to be known as the White Hart Lane stadium, as announced by EA Sports.

Commentators’ League

FIFA 19 will feature two more expert commentators for the Champions League: Derek Rae and Lee Dixon. Both are excellent commentators so buy a good sound system. (If you have not already, it is 2018!)

New Soundtrack

FIFA 19 will feature a diverse array of music taken from every corner of the globe – I hope this includes Antarctica, I mean who does not like Penguins.

EA Sports has also enlisted the services of the Award-Winning composer and legend: Hans Zimmer, and the great rapper Vince Staples to come up with a new spin on the Champions League Anthem.

68 ‘carefully picked’ musicians have been brought to AIR Studios to record the new song for FIFA 19, which has an undeniable resemblance to the Tony Britten’s original.

Let us know in the comments if we missed anything or if you have any opinions to add on these features. Good luck, have fun!
