A leaked promotional image for the October Playstation Plus games might have just leaked what they are, according to a Redditor who was able to snap a hazy picture of the games on a smartphone. While there’s no telling if it’s true or not yet, it still might hint at what you’ll get.
The two different October Playstation Plus games that might be coming in October are Diablo 3: Eternal Edition, and Nioh. While both games are a similar sort of dark fantasy world where loot’s a big focus, they’re otherwise completely different, with Diablo 3 being a fantasy RPG and loot-builder while Nioh is more grounded in reality but is also a Soulslike. The games are also different when it comes to difficulty.
Diablo 3: Eternal Edition is the most recent of Diablo 3, including not only the base game and the Reaper of Souls expansion, but also the Necromancer pack, which adds a new character class to the game that was once from Diablo 2. While it won’t have all the stuff that the Nintendo Switch version has, it’s still the best way to get the game and all its DLC.
Nioh on the other hand is an RPG that takes from the Soulsborne model, being a highly difficult game where players can collect dropped weapons and armor from enemies and collect a currency with each slain enemy that they can use to level up.
While Diablo 3 is getting more and more versions with more and more content available, Nioh proved to be the most popular of the Soulslike genre, being successful enough to have a sequel announced at E3 2018. The game also has a lot of DLC, though there’s no telling if it’s part of the game.
Once again whether or not the October Playstation Plus games turn out to be Nioh and Diablo 3 remains to be seen, but we’ll see whether or not it’s right in the next few weeks.
