New Devil May Cry 5 TGS 2018 Trailer Break Down, Here Is What You Might Have Missed

Devil May Cry 5 is the new game in the series and goes back to what the game is really about. At TGS 2018 we got a new trailer for the game and we got to see Dante in action and here I am going to dissect the trailer and give you all the details that you might have missed out on and will confirm all the speculations that I made leading up to the Devil May Cry 5 TGS 2018 trailer.

Devil May Cry 5 TGS 2018 Trailer Break Down

Dantes New Weapon

A video leaked a while back in which we saw Dante facing off against the Demon King. In the end, we saw Dante’s Rebellion sword break and I speculated that he would have a new weapon in Devil May Cry 5. That video had to be taken down because of copyright concerns but the new Devil May Cry 5 TGS 2018 trailer confirms that Dante will indeed be using the Sparda sword as his new weapon.

In the Devil May Cry 5 TGS 2018 trailer we see Trish carrying it in one of the scenes in the new trailer and it is possible that after the Rebellion breaks, Dante takes Sparda from Trish to use it himself. It did belong to his father so who better to use it than a son of Sparda himself.

Lady And Trish Are Back

Lady and Trish are back in action. We see that Lady has a bit of a design change with a new hairstyle, which is much appreciated. The hair is still short but the styling is a bit different. It is subtle but it is still.

We are not sure how big of a role these two characters will play but I think that Trish will give Dante the Sparda sword. That much can be taken from the trailer if we keep in mind the information that we already have.

The image above (taken from the Devil May Cry 5 TGS 2018 trailer) shows us a part of the game where Dante still has the Rebellion sword and Trish is carrying Sparda. Lady still has her trusty launcher. We know of 3 playable characters; Dante, Nero and V. So it is more than likely that players won’t be able to play with Lady and Trish this time. Fingers crossed for a special edition somewhere down the line.

The Bike Is Not A Cinematic Gimmick

In the last trailer, we saw Dante using a bike as a weapon and we got to see more of that in this Devil May Cry 5 TGS 2018 trailer. If you have played DMC3 then you will remember that Dante used a bike in a cutscene. You might be thinking that this would be something similar but as it turns out, the bike is an actual weapon and it has been confirmed in the marketing material for the deluxe edition of the game.

Devil May Cry 5 And Mega Man Cross Over

If the shiny new Blue Devil Breaker arm seems familiar, that is because you have seen it before and you remember it from the Iconic Mega Man game. That is another game from Capcom and this is what we call a crossover. The deluxe edition of the game will come with the special Mega Buster Devil Breaker arm for Nero.

The Mega Buster Devil Breaker arm seems to be pretty powerful if the following images from the Devil May Cry 5 TGS 2018 trailer are anything to go by:

V’s Official Appearance

In the recently leaked video we got a closer look at V. In the new trailer we have now got an official look at the third playable character in Devil May Cry 5. V uses a cane and is supposed to be a mage character that has been designed to be very different from Dante and Nero.

Dante’s Gauntlets And Greaves

Dante has used gauntlets and greaves in the previous games. In DMC3 they were called Beowulf and in DMC4 they were called Gilgamesh. While the name of the weapon could be different in Devil May Cry 5, one thing is for sure that they are going to be part of the game as you can see in the images included below:

Dante’s Devil Trigger

It has been a while since we got to look at Dante’s Devil Trigger in a cinematic. We got a glimpse of it when Nero and Dante fight one another in DMC4 but that was about it. Seeing this makes me believe that these guys are in some serious trouble and Dante has never resorted to that kind of power.

We did see Dante’s Devil Trigger in the leaked footage but now we have a closer look at it and it appears to be taken right out of DMC4. You can check it out below;

Although the design is pretty old the Devil Trigger combines with the new graphics is pretty cool to look at. Having that said this scene seems to be during the fight with the Demon King and most likely before the Rebellion is shattered.

Jackpot!

At the end of the trailer we hear Dante say jackpot, these are two iconic words and the last time we heard him say this was when fighting the final boss alongside Vergil. Both of them fired the guns at the same time and said these words. This might be a reference to the older game and we might see something similar.

This is speculation on my part and has not been confirmed by Capcom so we will have to wait and see.

Special Pre-order Theme

If you pre-order Devil May Cry 5 for the PS4 you get a theme which you can check out below:

Devil May Cry 5 Multiplayer Online Mode

This is more of a rumor as compared to a part of the Devil May Cry 5 TGS 2018 trailer breakdown. The listings of DMC5 mention that 2-3 players can play the game online. This could point towards multiplayer online mode where up to 3 players can choose between Dante, Nero and V. This has yet to be confirmed so take this with a grain of salt.
