Nintendo Switch Online Features

So if you set your self up with any of the available plans, you will have access to 20 games form NES which includes Super Mario Bros as well as Donkey Kong and The Legend Of Zelda.

Apart from that Nintendo has also revealed that they will also be releasing more classic games each month, so that is also something a Nintendo Switch Online service member could look forward to. However, at the moment the offerings are pretty limited.

All of these titles will be available to play online, adding to that not sure if you know of this or not but “Super Mario Bros.” will also be featuring a co-op mode for the first time.

Having said that Nintendo will also be offering cloud storage for selective game saves. But sadly, not all games will support crossplay.

According to Nintendo, games like Splatoon 2 and Dark Souls Remastered will not have cloud saving. This is in order to prevent cheating and modifying saves.

Apart from the cloud saves, for those players who want to invite their friends in order to play with them or chat, they would still need to download Switch Online app to a smartphone or tablet, it is a requirement.

This app will prove essential for players as it will provide them with complete access to the console’s social features. It will also be adding more features like stat tracking, maps as well as a shop for in-game items. However, most of the features are still being worked on.

PlayStation Plus Features

PlayStation Plus already gives its subscribers free games each month for PS4, PS3, and PS Vita. Moreover, Sony offers a considerable amount of exclusive discounts with amazing early access opportunities through its stores.

The free games are only for the active subscribers, so as soon as any subscription lapses these games become unplayable. However, when such subscriptions are active again, those titles can be reclaimed.

Adding to the information, just recently Sony announced that free games that get offered for PS3 and Vita will no longer be offered after March 2019. For PS4 those free games will continue.

Regarding the social features being offers, text messages, party chat for groups. However, it does not feature video chat even though it has camera functionality.

PS Plus also offers community hubs on PS4 for each game, which enables the users to upload pictures and videos as well as exchange messages so on and so forth.

In addition, PS Plus also offers Share Play feature which lets you share your screen or controller with another friend online. This feature is quite a remarkable one and is used by many.

PlayStation Plus includes a Share Play feature to share your screen or controller with a friend online.

Xbox Live Gold Features

A program referred to as “Games with Gold” was launched in 2013 by Microsoft. This program offered free digital Xbox games to Gold subscribers each month, similar to PlayStation Plus. It also only offers games to the active gold members.

Having said that Xbox offers the most fleshed out social features among these three major consoles. It offers voice and text messages, party chat for groups as well as video chat through Skype or Kinect.

Xbox Live Gold also offers community hubs similar to that of PS Plus. Players are able to upload pictures video and such.

With all that said, what Nintendo Switch Online subscription has to offer is pretty limited compared to PlayStation Plus or Xbox Live Gold. Still, at the price that it is offering is pretty decent provided the fact that a great many improvements are on their way for this online service, $20 it is not a bad option.

According to, Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aimé, this Switch online service is a successor to virtual consoles. So that is definitely something to ponder upon if you are considering the subscription.

Also, considering the fact that multiplayer games are the new marked of the gaming industry it seems to reason that getting Nintendo’s online service will eventually be beneficial for a gamer.
