If you thought The Witcher universe came to a close with The Witcher 3, we have some news for you. A new game set in The Witcher universe is coming to consoles and PC soon.
However, Geralt of Rivia won’t be making a return this time. Instead, we will see a female lead, Meve, as she fights a Nilfgardian invasion. He holds power over the Northern Realms in this new narrative-driven exploration experience with unique puzzles and Gwent.
Meve is a war-veteran and a Queen who has Nifgradians at the gates, ready to invade. In the war-torn land, players will be taken through a “dark journey of destruction and revenge.”
As we follow the journey, players will get to explore never before seen parts of The Witcher universe.
Thronebreaker is a single player role-playing game set in the world of The Witcher that combines narrative-driven exploration with unique puzzles and card battle mechanics.
Crafted by the developers responsible for some of the most iconic moments in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, the game spins a truly regal tale of Meve, a war-veteran queen of two Northern Realms — Lyria and Rivia. Facing an imminent Nilfgaardian invasion, Meve is forced to once again enter the warpath, and set out on a dark journey of destruction and revenge.
The game will release on PC next month on October 23 while consoles will have to wait till December 4, 2018. You can grab the game from GOG once it rolls out.
