Pete Hines Knows Stuff About PS5 and Xbox Scarlet But Obviously, He Can’t Say Anything

Lately, video gamers have been showing more curiosity about what the future holds for gaming as the next-generation consoles roll out. Apparently, Bethesda Softworks has already got their hands on the information about next-generation consoles which is not a big surprise though. However, while admitting that Bethesda Softworks is indeed aware of such activity Pete Hines acknowledged that he is not able to disclose any particulars yet.

Pete Hines, who is the Senior Vice President for Marketing at Bethesda Softworks implied in an interview through Telegraph that he might actually be well-informed about the new generation of consoles while declaring as well as probing:

“I am curious to see what it looks like and how it’s different, I’m privy to some stuff which obviously I can’t really talk about, but there is also a lot that I’m not sure on what it’s going to look like. And more importantly how big a shift we can expect.”

Furthermore, Hines also highlighted that the next-generation consoles working out for developers are as important as for the users:

“How much of that will change [with the next consoles], I don’t know,” Hines said. “The rest of it doesn’t matter to me because I’m not drawing art or coding or designing. What really matters is what the developers think. What do they need and what are the kind of power and features they are looking for.”

Meanwhile, Pete stressed that the swing from the period of PS2 and Xbox to PS3 and Xbox 360 was a bigger jump for the gaming community in comparison with the changes that were seen in PS4 and Xbox One from PS3 and Xbox 360. The former advancement in gaming the more dramatic in Pete’s opinion. However, while commenting on the PS4 and Xbox One era he said:
“The graphics folks that are super into it can certainly tell, but to the average consumer they were like, ‘Ok it still looks good”.

Moreover, Hines believes that large-scale games like Elder Scrolls VI would certainly be made more costly after the introduction of next-generation consoles whereas minor titles won’t really face such issues. However, Pete has expressed the confidence that Bethesda Softworks has in their single-player titles like Elder Scrolls VI.

Bethesda Softworks decision of cross-platform games has even been reported to lead to a fight with Sony. Nonetheless, Bethesda Softworks is surely planning ahead make their titles like Fallout 76 to be long-lasting.
