The senior environment artist at Boss Key, who previously helped develop Lawbreakers, recently took to his official Twitter account and revealed that the all of the Lawbreakers servers are officially dead.
The developer goes by the name, “joshrife” on Twitter, who said that all of the Lawbreakers servers are officially closed for good.
Moreover, he also shared some sentimental remarks in which he said that this game, was one of the hardest developments and for him still, it is the best game he ever shipped.
He also thanked those who have had the chance to check this game out, when its servers were open. Closing down this game for good may seem like an emotional time for the devs, as well as for the fans but we all know that it was pretty much a failure.
Boss Key Production was formed back in 2014 when Cliff Bleszinski and Arjan Brussee departed from Epic Games. The studio then rolled out two titles, Lawbreakers and Radical Heights which was a battle royale game.
Unfortunate as it may seem, both of the titles did not see success and have since then held back the studio and lead to the defunct of Boss Key on May 14, 2018.
Bleszinski also announced beforehand that he will be shutting down the servers of this game, which was pretty much a surprise for everyone, including the employes. In a statement announcing Boss Key’s closure, he said,
LawBreakers was a great game that unfortunately failed to gain traction, and, in a last-ditch attempt we scrambled to do our take on the huge battle royale genre with Radical Heights which was well received, however, it was too little too late,” Bleszinski said in a statement announcing Boss Key’s closure.
To be honest it does not seem right to know that this studio and its games are now officially dead. For those who have played their game, would know that although their game lacked a few things, all in all, they also showed quite a lot of promise.
