The anticipation for Assassin’s Creed titles always has quite a lot of hype, however, regarding the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Odyessy there have been some concerns among fans as well.
This newly revealed news will definitely be putting those concerns to rest. According to the creative director Jonathan Dumont, the branching choices offered in this upcoming title will be first of its kind for the franchise.
In a recently held interview with Official Xbox Magazine, Jonathan Dumont revealed quite a lot of interesting details. Among those interesting details, he revealed that the main storyline of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey has taken its inspiration from a Greek tragedy.
While not revealing much about that Greek tragedy, he did add some really fascinating facts about the kind of choices that will be offered in the game. How will they impact the gameplay and what kind of choice will they be.
According to Dumont, they have introduced these branching choices in the game with a perspective that no choice is a wrong choice. Only the players can deem those choices as preferable ones or not. Like making choices in the same situation is pretty relative and they have kept that angle alive.
He added that there will be multiple storylines in Assassin’s Creed Odyessy so that players, can make choices as they seem fit. Now since the story is based on a Greek tragedy, let it be known that those choices will not be easy to make. Furthermore, all of the choices will have diverse emotional impacts.
The most captivating aspect of this branching choice in the game, is the fact that players will have the autonomy to lie whenever they want to, romance, or even attack people even during the dialogue but bear in mind that such decisions, might also have immediate consequences as well.
However, the choices that the players will make will have spontaneous impacts so it will pretty much resemble reality as much as it can.
It’s more: here’s a big storyline and a storyline about making personal choices and those choices will have an impact down the road, or immediately. It’s not about influencing a faction necessarily or having an effect on the main storyline, it is much more about your personal journey.
Dumont could not have said it better, trying to explain to the fans that with so many choices it does not mean that the game is not your own, in fact, you will feel more empowered than ever.
With all that said, did you guys know that the world map size of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, is 62% bigger than AC Origins. However, this map size news comes in a form of the leak, so fingers are crossed on this one.
Devs may be working hard on this upcoming titles but we can’t seem to contemplate that why does the combat, in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey feel nothing like a true Assassin’s Creed combat.
