Spiderman PS4 is a week away from launch and before that fans have accused Insomniac Games of downgrading the game. Now, the developer has come forward to address the controversy and has denied that the Spiderman PS4 has been downgraded graphically.
The reason fans accusing Insomniac Game of downgrading Spiderman PS4 is a ridiculous one.
The reason behind the Insomniac Games being accused is an image, which you can see below, circulating the internet showcasing the differences between the 2017 demo and the retail.
The major difference between the two is the lack or change in the puddle size on the ground in the same scene.
Community manager James Stevenson took it his Twitter account and noted that the puddle in Spiderman PS4 has just moved and has nothing to do with the game’s performance on the PS4.
The puddles being moved had nothing to do with performance. Pretty sure it was a design / art / usability reason thing,” Stevenson explained.
Not only that, Insomniac Games has noted on its official Twitter account that “It’s just a change in the puddle size, there’s no downgrade at all”.
Arguing over the game being downgraded before launch is somewhat a ridiculous idea and we will know for sure once the game releases.
However, in case if you are wondering the other aspect of the game also look downgraded in the retail version of Spiderman PS4 compared to the 2017 demo and it is important to note that image compression also ruins a lot of details and it seems to be the case with the comparison image.
While the game hasn’t released yet but Insomniac Games has already announced 3 DLCs for the game prompting a debate over the internet that the devs have deliberately cut content to sell as DLC.
From what we have seen so far Insomniac Games have done a pretty good job on the upcoming Spiderman PS4 and the attention to detail is phenomenal.
However, this is not the only part of the game where the devs have paid attention as the studio has noted that each character has been chosen “very carefully”.
Spiderman PS4 is an open-world action adventure game developed by Insomniac Games and is scheduled to launch on September 7, 2018, for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
