With the release of Insomniac Games’s Spiderman title for the Playstation 4, the studio has now revealed what sort of Spiderman post-launch content we can expect, and it’ll be a doozy, including new suits, new enemies, new missions, and new challenges, when the game comes out on September 4 of this year.
The game already looks crowded to begin with, as the game’s E3 2018 showing has shown that Spidey will be going up against Mr. Negative, Rhino, Vulture, and Green Goblin, along with, possibly, Venom according to a Funko Pop figure. But if the post-launch content brings in even more enemies, we might see a number of other Spiderman villains coming as well.
The Spiderman post-launch content will be collectively known as “Spider Man: The City That Never Sleeps”, which will be spread out across three chapters that will each bring something new to the table. The first chapter, called “The Heist”, will include things like Peter’s on and off again flame Black Cat. The DLC will have new missions, a new enemy faction, and three additional suits.
The next two parts of the post-launch content are “Turf War” and “Silver Lining”, which will likely have the same sort of content included in them. You can pre-order all three parts of the post-launch content as a bundle for $24.99 or your regional equivalent, or you can buy the Deluxe Edition of the game, which gets you the base game and DLC for $79.99.
The game’s been in development for three years and is finally very close to coming out, so hopefully all of the hype that we’ve been feeling since the game was first announced at E3 2016 will end up being justified when September 4 rolls around. And hopefully even without the Spiderman post-launch content, you can find plenty to do in New York City.
