Asus RTX 2080 Ti Turbo is the single blower style version that is supposed to be cheaper, but that does not seem to be the case. Usually, the blower style option is the cheapest one that gamers can get but according to the numbers the Asus RTX 2080 Ti Turbo is $11 more expensive as compared to the reference design model that Nvidia is selling.
The Asus RTX 2080 Ti Turbo comes in at $1210 and that is a lot of money for a blower style card, keeping in mind that even the reference design model comes with dual fans this year. It is worth noting that there will always be cases where users need a blower style card. Such cases may be when you are tight on space or when you need proper airflow in SLI.
The Asus RTX 2080 Ti Turbo might come in handy when you are using 2 of these graphics cards in SLI but we have seen that SLI adoption is pretty low ever since Pascal series graphics cards were announced. Nvidia has already reduced the number of cards that you can use in SLI to two. It is possible that the new NVLink will provide better performance when 2 cards are configured but the price point makes it a tough sell.
Asus thinks that the Asus RTX 2080 Ti Turbo should be a pretty hot seller later this year when the Nvidia RTX cards hit the market and that might be the case but according to the number and specifications the Asus RTX 2080 Ti Turbo is slower than the reference design model even though it costs more. It is worth noting that the size of the fan has been increased to 80mm and Asus has tweaked the design in order to improve dust resistance with an IP5X rating.
From what we know the card runs at a stock frequency and even the reference design models from Nvidia come with a slight overclock out of the box. All this is very interesting indeed and we will have to wait and see how well the Asus RTX 2080 Ti Turbo performs and whether or not it is worth the extra money.
