While Nvidia hasn’t revealed its next-gen Gaming GPUs but, it has revealed its Nvidia Turing architecture based Quadro RTX GPUs capable of Real-time Ray Tracing. Nvidia has announced Quadro RTX 8000, Quadro RTX 6000 and Quadro RTX 5000 GPUs based on the Nvidia Turing architecture.
These Nvidia Turing architecture based GPUs feature new RT Cores which help accelerate ray tracing along with new Tensor Cores for the AI.
Together, these two will make real-time ray tracing possible with Quadro RTX 8000, Quadro RTX 6000 and Quadro RTX 5000 GPUs.
According to Nvidia CEO, Jensen Huang, Nvidia Turing is the most important GPU innovation in over a decade that will change the industry or sure.
Turing is NVIDIA’s most important innovation in computer graphics in more than a decade. Hybrid rendering will change the industry, opening up amazing possibilities that enhance our lives with more beautiful designs, richer entertainment and more interactive experiences. The arrival of real-time ray tracing is the Holy Grail of our industry.
These Nvidia Turing based GPUs are the world’s first-ever to be able to render Real-Time Ray Tracing.
Turing’s hybrid rendering technique allows for the simulation of the physical-based ray tracing by 6x the speed Pascal GPUs were capable of.
Not only that, Nvidia has also coupled its RTX development with AI along with a key Graphical application that will help countless designers and artists to take advantage of the RTX development while using Nvidia Turing based GPUs.
Nvidia Quadro RTX 8000, Quadro RTX 6000 and Quadro RTX 5000 GPUs will be available in the Q4 of 2018. However, we wonder if the next-gen gaming GPUs from Nvidia will be based on the Nvidia Turing architecture or not.
Speaking of the Nvidia’s Real-Time Ray Tracing, it might not make it to GTX 1160 and other low-end next-gen Nvidia gaming GPUs. Nvidia next-gen high-end GPUs will be ditching the GTX branding will be RTX 1180 and RTX 1170 just like the recently announced Quadro RTX 8000.
Also, Nvidia might announce its next-gen gaming GPUs at Gamescom 2018 as Nvidia has promised “Spectacular Surprises” at Gamescom 2018.
Nvidia noted that the “event will be loaded with new, exclusive, hands-on demos of the hottest upcoming games, stage presentations from the world’s biggest game developers, and some spectacular surprises.”
Also, a leaked e-mail between NVIDIA AIC and a retailer has confirmed the release dates for the upcoming Nvidia GPUs.
According to the leaked e-mail, the upcoming GTX 1180 will be available on August 30, 2018. The GTX 1170 and mysteriously named GTX 1180+ will be available on September 30th.
