Assassin’s Creed Odyssey ESRB Rating Is Full Of Spoilers, Proceed With Caution

The Assassin's Creed Odyssey ESRB Rating is out and contains spoilers. The protagonists are siblings and it includes explicit language and violence.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey has received a great deal of information over the last couple of months, both about its story and gameplay. Now, the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey ESRB Rating reveals even more, giving us a sense of what to expect when it finally releases. According to it, the two protagonists are siblings and the game includes a lot of explicit language.

The first bit of information to get from the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey ESRB Rating is that the game is rated M for Mature (17+) meaning it will include gore, violence, strong language and sexual themes. This is not a generic random thing though as the summary of the rating reveals even more information both story and gameplay-wise.

According to the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey ESRB Rating, Alexios and Kassandra are siblings, mercenaries on a quest for vengeance. We don’t know their backstory, other than they are descendants of Achilles, one of the most iconic Spartan warriors in the Greek history.

In the game’s vast open-world, players will be able to interact with characters and infiltrate enemy bases and strongholds. Killing enemies will be done both stealthy with knife-stabbing mechanics etc. but the game will feature a great deal of gore as the rating states. Cinematics will depict intense acts of violence, with some examples given such as a young character thrown from a cliff and more.

Explicit content will also be present in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, with dialogues referencing prostitution (some examples are given for that as well), sexual audio and strong language. We can’t say that surprises us not only because the Assassin’s Creed franchise is not afraid to address such matters taking place in the ancient world but also since ancient Greece was known for its intense view on a “good life”.

Long story short, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey will feature two siblings as its main characters, who can assess combat both stealthily and in pure gore. Violence and explicit content will be present throughout the game, making it ultimately rated as M for mature.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey releases on October 5th for Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC. This addition to the franchise is believed to be the biggest one Ubisoft has seen up until now.
