For Sake of The Future, EmuParadise Has Shutdown ROM Downloads

EmuParadise is a heaven for gamers all around the world for two decades offering a free and favourite catalogue of games absolutely free on older machines but it has now come to an end. It’s a decision made by the moderators of the site who have removed all ROMs from their database without any regrets to save their future.

Some of the credit for this goes to Nintendo who filed lawsuits against LoveRoms and LoveRetro.co, two famous emulation sites which were forced to shut down. Though EmuParadise didn’t mention Nintendo as the sole reason for this happening. EmuParadise has released a statement mentioning that the situation is changing for emulation sites though it’s something always happening with them.

Masj founder of EmuParadise explained the situation as follows.

Many of you are aware that the situation with regards to emulation sites has been changing recently. What you probably don’t know is that we at EmuParadise have been dealing with similar issues for all 18 years of our existence.

It’s not worth it for us to risk potentially disastrous consequences. I cannot in good conscience risk the futures of our team members who have contributed to the site through the years. We run EmuParadise for the love of retro games and for you to be able to revisit those good times. Unfortunately, it’s not possible right now to do so in a way that makes everyone happy and keeps us out of trouble.

You can still download your favourite emulators from the site but for ROMs, you will have to go for something else.

Nintendo seems to be the one taking piracy and hacking a lot seriously. They have also released a new 3DS firmware update recently which can detect pirated games and also issues a ban so be careful.

Hacking is without a doubt a big problem in the gaming industry and Nintendo seems to be dealing with it pretty well but it comes at a cost for those who like free games.
