AMD will soon be bringing its 32-core Ryzen Threadripper 2990WX to the market to compete with Intel. However, it seems like the AMD has already won before dropping its CPU in the market as leaked benchmark performance suggests Threadripper 2990WX to be over 50% faster than Intel Core i9-7980XE.
AMD uploaded benchmark results for its 32-core Ryzen Threadripper 2990WX over its official website, which has been removed now.
AMD compared the performance of its 32-Core Threadripper 2990WX with Intel Core i9-7980XE which is an 18 Core CPU.
AMD used the following system for its 32-core Ryzen Threadripper 2990WX and the 18-core Intel Core i9-7980XE for benchmarking both CPUs.

According to the benchmarks, the Threadripper 2990WX earned a score of 5,099 while the Intel Core i9-7980XE earned a score of 3,335 indicating that Threadripper 2990WX is 53% faster than Intel Core i9-7980XE.
53% performance lead over its competitor is no joke and with Ryzen already giving Intel a tough time in the market, future is not looking particularly bright for Intel if things remain the same.
While the 32-Core Threadripper isn’t in the market yet but, the company has confirmed the specs and price for the entire lineup of upcoming Threadripper CPUs.
The 32-Core Threadripper will cost $1799 USD as for the specs, the CPU features 4.2 GHz of boost clock. While the 24-core 2970WX CPU will be priced at $500.
Speaking of the Ryzen, according to stats revealed by MindFactory, AMD Ryzen CPUs sold more than Intel in July 2018. This is despite Intel selling bucket loads of Core i7-8700K during the same month.
Furthermore, according to a recent report, AMD has not only caught up with Intel in the CPU market but has surpassed Intel in gaming and data center sectors.
According to CNBC’s Jim Cramer, Intel is no longer the dominating force in the CPU market as AMD has the right chips for data centers and gaming machines.
