Giving Players Choices In Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Is The Only Logical Step According To Ubisoft

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is releasing this October, bringing the franchise one step closer to being the ultimate RPG experience. According to Ubisoft, giving players choices throughout the game was the only logical step and it will impact all aspects of it, from the way you handle quests to its multiple endings.

In a recent developer video, discussing the RPG elements of  Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Ubisoft Quebec reveals that player choices extend to heights it never had in the franchise. Not only players will be able to interact with NPCs in different ways and customize their character, ships and more in the way they see fit, but they’ll also find some of the choices they make, impact how Assassin’s Creed Odyssey progresses and finally ends.

We already knew that Assassin’s Creed will have multiple endings, however, the developers explain how this will happen in a natural way and will take a logical path towards it through every decision you make and not only one single choice. You can help the Athenians turn the tide of war, approach battle how you see fit, romance with different characters and more. Even the way you approach quests will be something you choose.

Scott Phillips, game director of  Assassin’s Creed Odyssey pointed out:

Something I really like about our game is the variations of tones. You know, you can be a little more of a traditional compassionate hero but you can also call people on their b..it in the game. Somebody is coming to you with a much more down to earth easy quest like somebody stole my vase or something so your character can say, dude, who do I look like? Like somebody who gets vases? You know, I’m destroying armies. When a player can say that, we try to put that in the world of the character as a choice as well.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey comes outs on 8 October 2018 on Microsoft Windows, Xbox One, PlayStation 4.
