Divinity Original Sin 2 Arena Mode Coming With Definitive Edition In August

In addition to all of the different things that will be coming in the Divinity Original Sin 2 Definitive Edition that’s coming out in August, there will also be a Divinity Original Sin 2 Arena mode that will be coming along with the game, which you can play solo, online, or co-op.

The Arena Mode will be including two new characters and two new game modes (standard Team Deathmatch which pits two teams against each other, and Kill the King, where each team must protect a VIP from being killed), along with a number of mutators that you can use in order to change your gameplay experience fresh.

You’ll also be able to play through the arena mode on 13 different maps, as well, so you can always be sure to find a change of scenery. Each of those maps will also have three different chests available for players to use in order to get scrolls of Destruction, Control, or Source, to help you out during combat.

The fact that a Divinity Original Sin 2 arena mode is a thing is rather surprising, especially in a turn-based strategy RPG where arena modes aren’t normally used. Then again the Divinity games haven’t truly been “conventional” with their styles of gameplay, since you can play co-op and even competitive multiplayer. An Arena mode is just the next logical step, it would seem.

Divinity Original Sin 2 came out in 2017 and got critical acclaim for its gameplay and story, and proved to be rampantly popular, hence the Definitive Edition and all of the improvements that the game is getting there. The Divinity Original Sin 2 Arena Mode is merely one of many different ways that you’ll be able to play the game alone or with a friend.

The Divinity Original Sin 2 Arena Mode will be coming out at the same time as the definitive edition of the game, on August 31 on the Xbox One and Playstation 4. The Arena Mode will be added to the PC version at the same time.
