Defiant Studios Will Reinstate The Lost Love For Lords Of The Fallen 2, Will They Actually?

Those following the news would know that last June, Defiant Studios took over the development of Lords Of The Fallen 2 from Deck13 and now they have gone out to let the fans know that they will be developing the game from the ground up.

The devs have confirmed that they will not be using the already designs created for the pre-production, in fact, they will be using New equipment, new engine as well as new ideas for the sequel. Having said that Defiant Studios did say that they will keep the game in its RPG style, which most of the fans relate to Dark Souls action style.

Speaking with Eurogamer, Defiant Studio’s managing director David Grijns said:

“It’s really a reset, it’s a fresh start, It’s a new engine – Unreal 4 – and a new team. A team which does not have a long and illustrious background in action RPG development, but we actually see it as a strength.”

Be that as it may, try not to raise your expectations for Lords Of The Fallen 2, the game has suffered enough already let alone, CI Games meddling with the studios and the devs again and again. Not saying this because of any personal grudge but not sure if you have heard or not, recently it came to our attention that CI Game has let go of one person who has been the driving force behind the Fallen series, Tomasz Gop.

In an interview with Eurogamer, Gop shed some light on some really interesting aspected of the studio regarding this game in context. He explained that the studio apparently has no clear focus on the game. He said:

“I was let go because of a reduction in the team, in scope, in the budget, in business approach.”

He added that he has been working on the sequel for a long time but the studio never moved it above the concept stage. Gop blamed that the focus of studio on Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 was something that interrupted the Lords Of The Fallen 2 development in the first place, and the fallout was that they let off the employes to cover it.

If you ask us a studio like that is unlikely to deliverĀ or reinstate the lost love for any game, let alone Lords Of The Fallen 2.

With all that said, what are your thoughts about the studio’s intention to restart the development of Fallen 2? Will they be able to justify, what are your thoughts? Let us know in the comments below.
