The first thing you need to know is that Call of Duty Black Ops 4 BETA is out on 3 August. The Private MP beta will be exclusively released PS4 on August 3 for the weekend. After 6 August the beta will be accessible from next weekend on 10 August.
The same day, Call of Duty Black Ops 4 BETA will be launched for Xbox and PC. Unlike the PS4 beta version, Xbox and PC versions will have only one weekend for the beta.
After releasing on 10 August Call of Duty Black Ops 4 BETA will close for all platforms on 13 August. PC beta version will be open on August 10 only for those who availed early access beta version. The open MP beta version on PC will start on 11 August.

To get first-hand access to Call of Duty Black Ops 4 BETA you’re supposed to pre-order the full game online or at any retailer’s. If you ordered at a retailer then you’ll have to use a code on the official website to redeem the Private MP beta. The code is to be provided by your retailer via email or on your receipt.
After entering the code, Activision will send you an email containing the beta-token. The token will allow you to install on your concerned platform. Activision told that the email containing beta-tokens will be sent to all users at exactly 10 AM PT. The timing is valid for PS4 on August 3 and 10 August for XBox and PC. Timings are the latest as provided by Activision till further updates. You may check your registration status on callofduty.com/beta by logging in/up.
The ones for who are looking to pre-order online do not need to redeem any code. Digital pre-orders will simply enable your platforms to download Call of Duty Black Ops 4 BETA from the platform’s store.
Activision has not yet established the availability of pre-loading in Call of Duty Black Ops 4 BETA. However, they have stated that more information is coming soon.
Many users are wondering if XBox Live Gold and PlayStation Plus membership is a requirement for Call of Duty Black Ops 4 BETA. As of now, PlayStation Plus was not a requirement before and it will stay the same this time too. However, Xbox Live Gold membership is compulsory for the Private MP beta.
Multiplayer for Call of Duty Black Ops 4 BETA is not going to be open for PS4 and Xbox. As in the past for COD: WWII, Activision did not open the Private MP beta. Besides Activision clearly mentioned that PS4 and Xbox will feature “Private Beta” for Call of Duty Black Ops 4 BETA.
However, for PC it is going to be an open beta for those who have an account on Battle.net although the opening day would only be for early access orders i.e. 10 August, 10 AM PT. The rest can join one day later on 11 August.
As far as the content of Private MP Beta is concerned Treyarch and Activision revealed certain details about it. Team Deathmatch, Domination, Hardpoint, Control, and Search & Destroy are the modes being offered in Call of Duty Black Ops 4 Private BETA. The listed maps include Frequency, Contraband, Seaside, Payload, Hacienda, and Gridlock.
The stats gathered in Call of Duty Black Ops 4 BETA would not carry into the full game. Although, stats of PlayStation 4 would carry on from Weekend 1 to Weekend 2. Once the Call of Duty Black Ops 4 BETA closes the stats would not follow but there would be benefits.
Players who reach the maximum rank level in the beta would get tokens to unlock items in the full game. Beta Calling Card will also be available to be accessed in-game.
As of now, Activision has offered the multiplayer-only beta although a Private Blackout Beta is in works separately. Just like the Call of Duty Black Ops 4 BETA, the Private Blackout Beta would also be available on PS4 first.
