AMD CEO Lisa Su “Caught And Surpassed Intel” In Gaming And Data Center Sectors

With AMD Ryzen, AMD is slowly breaking Intel's dominance in the market. Turns out AMD CEO Lisa Su has already caught up with Intel and surpassed it.

It is no secret that AMD took the CPU market by storm with its AMD Ryzen APUs and CPUs and is slowly breaking Intel’s dominance in the market. Turns out AMD CEO Lisa Su has already caught up with Intel and surpassed it in gaming and other sectors.

This is according to CNBC’s Jim Cramer, who noted that AMD CEO, Lisa Su, has not only managed to catch up with Intel in the CPU market in terms of market share but has surpassed Intel in gaming and other sectors.

According to Jim Cramer, Intel is no longer the dominating force in the CPU market as AMD has the right chips for data centers and gaming machines.

Cramer noted that in all of the time he has been following the progress for both Intel and AMD and this is the first time that AMD has just surpassed Intel while a few years ago nobody could even think of that.

We know that AMD Ryzen APUs based on Zen+ architecture are the reason why AMD has been able to surpass Intel in the gaming and data center sectors of the CPU market.

Also, AMD is just beginning to take the lead in the CPU market as it is yet to release its 2nd-gen AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2990X despite announcing it at Computex 2018.

Leaks and rumors suggest that AMD will be rolling out Ryzen Threadripper 2990 on August 13 in the market.

Not only that, the report suggests that AMD has partnered with Ferrari for the reveal of its upcoming 2md-gen AMD Ryzen Threadripper.

As for the specifications, leaks suggest that the Threadripper 2990X will feature 3 GHz base clock and a boost clock of 4 GHz.

Furthermore, the processor features 3MB L1 Cache, 16MB L2 Cache and 64MB L3 Cache along with XFR support which will give up to 200MHz of boost to the CPU’s clock speed.

In my personal opinion, Intel had it coming as it became quite sloppy with its dominance in the market and AMD just took advantage of that by offering AMD Ryzen APUs and CPU with higher core/thread counts and competitive prices.

Also, Meltdown and Spectre exploits did no favor to Intel either and despite Intel redesigning its Coffee Lake refreshes, it will be hard for Intel to get back on top.

What do you think of AMD CEO catching up with Intel and surpassing it? Will AMD be able to keep its lead in the CPU market? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
