Star Wars Episode 9 Assures Return Of Carrie Fisher & Mark Hamill

The iconic character of Leia Organa is ready to be relived through the big screen once again. “Previously unreleased footage shot for Star Wars: The Force Awakens” will be used to feature Carrie Fisher’s return in Star Wars Episode 9. While announcing the cast list for Star Wars Episode 9, Lucasfilm decided to keep the legacy of Carrie Fisher alive also.

Director of Star Wars Episode 9, J.J. Abrams declared that unseen footage from The Force Awakens will be used. Abrams professed “We desperately loved Carrie Fisher,”.

“Finding a truly satisfying conclusion to the Skywalker saga without her eluded us. We were never going to recast or use a CG character. With the support and blessing from her daughter, Billie, we have found a way to honor Carrie’s legacy and role as Leia in Episode 9 by using unseen footage we shot together in Episode 7.”

Brother and daughter of Carrie Fisher allowed permission to Disney for using her previously shot scenes in Star Wars Episode 9.“She’s as much a part of it as anything, and I think her presence now is even more powerful than it was, like Obi-Wan – when the saber cuts him down, he becomes more powerful. I feel like that’s what’s happened with Carrie. I think the legacy should continue.”. Todd Fisher said while discussing his and Carrie’s daughter Billie Lorde’s decision.

Similarly, the return of Luke Skywalker is also expected as Mark Hamill, the actor himself feels quite sure about it. Director Rian Johnson also implicated towards this possibility. “I don’t want to get too explicit, because I like people being able to have their own interpretations, but I think definitely the act of what he does at the end literally just takes everything out of him. That’s a huge thing. Also.. he’s having his final act be something of myth-making in a way.”

While we are assured of these legends returning to the series, other cast members have also been confirmed. The list and reports suggest the reappearance of two key characters, Rey and Finn matching up. Whereas some characters might not come back after all.

The storyline is anticipated to go with an original script since Lucasfilm does not compromise on the vision of Star Wars series.
