Intel 10nm process has been a thorn in the side of the company and the process has been delayed time and again but it seems that Intel is confident that they will be able to deliver these upcoming Intel 10nm chip by the end of 2019. At least that is what their official slides have to say regarding the matter.
Consumers have been plagued with the 14nm process for some time now and people do want an upgrade. While chips coming out this year are also based on the 14nm++ process, there is still room for improvement and it will be interesting to see how Intel is going to compete with AMD keeping in mind the Intel 10nm based chips won’t be coming out till next year.
While the Intel 10nm release is set for next year, it is worth noting that AMD 12nm chips have already been released and these are not the only chips that are based on the 12nm process we have been hearing about other mainstream chips that feature 4 cores. furthermore, there hare high-end APU coming for mobile as well. AMD is slowly but surely pushing Intel into a corner and has also forced into to release an 8-core variant in the market.
While we do not have a release date of the 8 core model right now and there is no announcement that it exists, we have been getting plenty of leaks and hints that it will be coming out before the end of the year and it is all due to the competition that AMD has brought into the CPU market.
Other than that, AMD has confirmed that the 7nm base chips are going to be sampled by the end of the year and according to the official AMD roadmap, these chips will be coming out next year. While we are not sure exactly when these chips will come out next year, even if they release the chips in H2 2019, the process will be 7nm as compared to 10nm.
Let us know what you think about the Intel 10nm process based chips coming out in the second half of 2019 and whether or not this is something that you are interested in getting.
