The Culling 2 rolled out on July 10, 2018, and had an unsuccessful launch. Unlike its predecessor, it just was not something that fans found amusing and that’s why the studio, has officially announced that they are shutting down The Culling 2. While they will be giving out refunds to those who have already purchased it, they will be working back on rebooting The Culling 1.
The developers of the game, Xavient Games recently rolled out a video in which the director of operations, Josh Van Veld apologized form the fans for giving a lot of disappointment, with the second installment to The Culling game.
Josh acknowledged the fact that The Culling 2 was a total disaster, the reason being that the studio took this game, very much away from its original game.
“It’s been difficult for us to wrap our heads around the entire situation”,”The Culling 2 was not a game that you asked for and it’s not the game you expect as a worthy successor to The Culling.”
Now in order to rectify the mistake, Xaviant will be removing Culling 2 from the stores. Josh said that in the next few days, the studio will be in contact with Valve, Sony, and Microsoft to get this game off the store shelves. In return, however, what they will be doing is rebooting the original game and will be making it free to play.
The fact that Xaviant Games have shown the courage to acknowledge the unworthiness, of their recently release installment to the original Culling, and also the fact that they are ready to refund the players, is something that is very much appreciatable.
With all that said, the reason for rolling back The Culling 2 was apparently the result of a lot of complaints, on the game abandoning the original game as well as lower focus on melee combat and low server population.
Let’s hope this time the studio is able to give its fans something better and original, as in the original game.
