New Guerrilla Games Studio Is All Set Up, Studio Goes From 250 To 400

Guerrilla Games is definitely capitalizing on the runaway success of Horizon Zero Dawn, as the studio has announced that they are moving into a new Guerrilla Games studio building, and their numbers are increasing from 250 employees to 400. The news came from an employee’s Twitter post of their new building.

Guerrilla Games, in addition to being known for developing Horizon Zero Dawn, also is responsible for giving us the Killzone games, the most recent of which, Killzone: Shadow Fall, was one of the launch titles for the Playstation 4 back in 2013. However, while Horizon may eventually get a sequel of some kind, for all we know Killzone appears to be finished.

There’s no telling what this new Guerrilla Games studio will end up giving us in terms of developed games, but hopefully the vastly increased size of the studio and the new digs will allow them to be able to start taking on more ambitious projects. Horizon was a big step up from any Killzone game that the studio had ever done before, and if they can do that with 250 people, imagine what they can pull off with 400.

Both Killzone Shadow Fall and Horizon Zero Dawn were able to push the Playstation 4’s graphics to the limit with their bright and detailed environments along with their sheer scale, and with 400 people and whatever console will come after the Playstation 4 (especially considering the console is coming to the end of its life cycle within a few more years), Guerrilla will likely be able to do it all over again.

Of course, it will likely be several years before we hear anything about what will be coming out of the new Guerrilla Games studio, so all we can do is wait and see what the studio will cook up in the meantime and hope it’s as good as their previous work.
