Birds of Prey Drops Penguin But He Might Appear in The Batman Solo Film

The notorious adversary of the caped crusader, Penguin, might appear in the forthcoming solo feature film The Batman by Matt Reeves, however, Oswald Cobblepot a.k.a. Penguin has been snubbed as the leading villain of “Birds of Prey.”

Penguin has previously been linked to play the antagonist role for Matt Reeves’ “The Batman”. The ongoing gossip suggests that Penguin is finally out of the “Birds of Prey” movie after being considered initially.

But reports now say Penguin might have been selected as the ultimate rival of the Dark Knight for The Batman solo film after all. A recent Tweet from The Wrap’s Umberto Gonzalez broke this news.

After the conception of this character in DC Comic in 1941, Penguin was played for the first time on the screen years later by Danny Devito in Batman Returns, 1992.

Danny Devito pulled of the character pretty well. Presently Josh Rad has shown a lot of interest in playing the character and his involvement has been rumored since last year.

Although Josh Rad is a considerable option Reeves has not yet confirmed his cast for the Penguin neither do we have a clue of how this scandalous character is going to be portrayed on the screen this time when The Batman is put on the show.

On the other hand, the cast has not yet been selected for “Birds of Prey” and since not even protagonists have been selected yet, we will have to wait and see what becomes of this project. Although rumors claim that the characters of Barbara Gordon (without her BatGirl alter-ego), The Huntress and Harley Quinn will also be starring in Birds of Prey film.
