Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most hyped games that we have seen at E3 2018 and even though we got a closer look at the game it seems that CDPR will be taking time with the game and it will not be coming out soon. Tabletop game creator Mike Pondsmith has been working with the devs in order to make adapt the game into a video and to transplant the mechanics. The following is what he had to say in this regard:
We have an awful lot of stuff that we want to do, and it’s going to take time to do it. And I’m hoping the fans are going to give us the time to do it.
Pondsmith praised the game and according to him Cyberpunk 2077 “pretty damn close” to what it would be like if he built the entire thing himself in a broom closet. This is an impressive praise coming from the creator of the tabletop game. He also went on to mention the following:
Very smart not to show the whole world gameplay. If we’re going to do stuff that has never been done before—or has never been done the way we’re doing it—we need space, we need time, and we need the privacy to mull it over.
Cyberpunk 2077 is a very ambitious project and even though it is a very impressive game, from what we have seen, fans will have to wait for devs to complete development before the game can be played. I think that we will not be able to play the game before at least H2 2019. Pondsmith also talked about why he helped CDPR with the game and how they first interacted with one another. According to Pondsmith:
I was imagining a tiny studio out in Poland that had done very little, and then I looked at The Witcher 2 and thought, ‘Wow. This is good. This is really good’. So I flew out to see them and realised they were genuine fans of Cyberpunk.
Let us know what you think about Cyberpunk 2077 and whether or not you are interested in playing the game when it comes out.
